During the past few decades, a movement throughout Illinois and the nation has developed to enact tougher laws to address the problem of drunk driving. For many years, John J. Eannace, has defended clients facing charges of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol (or Drugs). A person charged with DUI is well-advised to retain the services of a competent attorney immediately following arrest. A DUI arrest typically involves two different cases - a criminal charge of DUI, punishable by potential jail time, and a non-criminal process called a Statutory Summary Suspension. In successfully attacking the criminal and non-criminal cases, time is of the essence. Consult with an attorney as soon as possible.

The consequences of a DUI conviction are harsh. An Illinois DUI charge, at a minimum, is a class A misdemeanor punishable by up to $2,500 in fines, and up to 364 days in jail. In some cases, felony DUI charges may be brought, possibly mandating prison time if convicted. Additionally, a DUI conviction will result in the revocation of driving privileges. Insurance companies have access to the driving records of motorists. A DUI conviction or license suspension may cause cancellation of your insurance, with new coverage available only at a sharply increased price, if at all.

Mr. Eannace has knowledge and experience that most others do not. Following a conviction, a number of legal errors may have occurred, and therefore can be attacked in the Appellate Court. You may be convinced that a witness against you was lying, that the prosecution or trial judge committed errors, or that the evidence was not sufficient to support a finding of guilty. A successful appeal can mean the suppression of evidence, a reduction in sentence or other penalties, the granting of a new trial, or the outright reversal of a conviction. Mr. Eannace has fought for clients at the appellate level and in post-conviction proceedings. He has also pursued post-trial remedies with the office of the governor of Illinois by way of Petition for Executive Clemency. Let Mr. Eannace put his unique experience to work for you.
