In 1999, he founded The Law Offices of John J. Eannace, serving Cook, DuPage, Will and Lake counties. His law practice is focused on the vigorous and aggressive representation of individuals charged with federal and state criminal offenses and the prosecution of wrongful death and significant personal injury matters.
Previously, Mr. Eannace served as a Cook County prosecutor for fifteen years. In that office, he excelled as a trial lawyer, supervisor and leader. He was promoted several times, and ultimately, was appointed to the position of Deputy State's Attorney where he was responsible for the daily operation of the second largest prosecutor's office in the United States.
As a prosecutor, Mr. Eannace was responsible for the development, preparation and trial of hundreds of criminal cases, including Murder, Conspiracy, Armed Robbery, Drug offenses and various financial crime offenses. He had the privilege of litigating significant cases before some of the most highly respected Judges assigned to the Criminal Court at 26th & California in Chicago.
Thereafter, Mr. Eannace entered the private sector and became the managing attorney for a fifty lawyer, in-house, insurance defense firm. In that capacity, he was responsible for defending individuals who were named as defendants in personal injury lawsuits throughout eighteen counties in northern Illinois.
